fuck book deals. fuck ad deals.
so tired of these models. the fact that people think you have to have a model for your little tiny blog is just silly. maybe these endeavors don’t necessarily need models.
instead of ruining your blog or webapp by plastering it with ads, try reducing the amount of time it takes to get more visitors. if time really is money, this method is way more “profitable” then the 56 cents your blog will earn in ad sales on a daily basis.
do you know how small book advances really are? do you know how little you get paid per THOUSAND of page views? we’re talking a few grand for the book. quarters and dimes for the thousand page views.
yet… everywhere you see these awful ads. people dying for a book deal. arrogant ass, no-technical-talent-whatsoever, never-had-a-returning-visitor-before businessmen in business people costumes starting crappy interwebernet companies that are just blogs in disguise and failing so badly it makes me wonder who gave them money in the first place to do this nonsense.
(disclosure: i still want a book deal. and an ad deal. but only a really super sweet deal, otherwise fuck off.)
